Max Görlitz

Hi there! I’m Max (my full name is Maximilian Görlitz).

Currently, I’m doing a 1-year master’s degree in Genomic Medicine at the University of Oxford. Previously, I worked as a Research Affiliate at the MIT Media Lab and SecureBio, where I investigated the safety of high-dose 200-235 nm far-UVC and its capability for pandemic mitigation. Before that, I was a student in clinical medicine at the Technical University of Munich.

You can find my CV on LinkedIn.

The great thing about having a personal blog is that people can see what I am interested in and curious about. On average, this makes me have more meaningful conversations since I get to talk more about these topics!

Discover my blog posts in the writing section of this website. Some pieces can also be found on Substack and the EA forum.

I’m always happy to discuss meditation, biosecurity, effective altruism, running (zone 2 training), favorite books (find me on Goodreads), (geo)politics, dancing, genomics, longevity, journaling, economic growth, history, progress, mental health & psychiatry, moral philosophy, poetry (Mary Oliver), high fantasy (Brandon Sanderson) & more!

Also, I would highly appreciate it if you could give me (anonymous) feedback about anything at all.

Feel free to reach out to me at my email address, and let me know if you’d like to chat:
